Have you got any plan for the year end yet? In conjunction with the public holiday on 25th Dec 2019, (Merry Xmas for those celebrating!) we would like to invite you to extend the leave for another day so we can together go Ring of Fire Camping 2019 in the Southern Tip of Asia – Benut and Tanjung Piai, Johor.
In just about two weeks from now, Malaysia will experience 2.5 minutes darkness in the afternoon 26th December 2019. Eclipse gonna cause birds migration, high tide, and other natural changes during the occasion.
The solar eclipse will start in Saudi Arabia and moving to India across Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia up to Guam.
There will be two spots that is expected to see the full Annular solar eclipse – Tanjung Piai in Johor and Serian in Sarawak. In other locations like Kuala Lumpur, only partial eclipse will be visible.
We gonna have a free and easy camp, it would be good to be self sufficient with own equipment and pack enough food but otherwise, we encourage you to shop local! A little bird told us Benut Traveller Cafe is a must visit!
We will also get to enjoy dinner prepared by the locals. We will update the menu soon. Any request on Johor delicacies?
What is Ring of Fire / Annular Solar Eclipse?
An annular solar eclipse will occur on December 26, 2019. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon’s apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun’s, blocking most of the Sun’s light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring). An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region of the Earth thousands of kilometres wide. The annularity will be visible in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam.
Observe the annular solar eclipse and camping close to the viewing point. Join Ring of Fire Camping 2019
